Pakistan: 480th Urs Festival by Rana Sajid Hussain
Pakistani devotees carry flags on their journey to the shrine of the Sufi saint Hazrat syed Mohammad bin Ibrahim Syed Bin Fateullah Kirmani (R.A)who is most commonly knwon has Hazrat Daud Bandagi kirmani (R.A),s 480th annual urs festival celebration in(sher garh) okara 90 km from Lahore Pakistan on March 14, 2017. Thousand of devotees people starting travelling by bare foot to attend the urs festival before three month all over the pakistan.holding religious flags in their hands, it took so many days to reach over there but they stood firm with a belief that if they do so, their hopes will be fruitfull by the grace of God.Hazrat syed Mohammad bin Ibrahim Syed Bin Fateullah Kirmani (R.A)who is most commonly knwon has Hazrat Daud Bandagi kirmani (R.A)who was the sufi saint from Qadriyyah Order of Sufism" The famous 16th century Muslim historian ‘Abd al-Qadir Bada’uni went to Shergarh in AD 1572.He lived during the 16th Century (A.D)now his mausoleum can be seen in Shergarh village which comes under the district of Okara. Once a year, to the annual festival (urs) in the town of Shergarh of the Sufi saint Dawd Bandagi who lived at the times of the Moghul emperor Aqbar, from many parts of the Punjab many groups of people flog to the town, followers of the saint, who carry large flags with them which they dedicate to the saint as a sign of their devotion.
