Indonesia: 21 Baby Dragons Successfully Hatched by Tubagus Aditya Irawan
Veterinarian, together with animal keepers staff taking care of the baby Komodo Dragons (Varanus Komodoensis), who recently hatched on March 11, 2017 at the home captivity of Taman Safari Indonesia, in Bogor, West Java. A total of 21 eggs Komodo Dragons, hatched from March 2 until March 11 after incubation for 6 to 7 months. This success was the first conducted in a place with a mountain climate, which differs from the original habitat of Komodo Dragons, on Komodo Island, which tend to warm climates. It gave hope to the Dragons population growth, which is one of the animals on the IUCN Red List, which in 2016 recorded a population just 3,012 in the whole island of Komodo.
